Summary: SA Paediatric Resus does not collect personal information during normal use. The only time any personal data leaves your device is if you voluntarily submit a data error report, and only the content of that report is sent.
1. Who we are
SA Paediatric Resus is developed and published by Observable (Pty) Ltd, a South African software company. You can reach us at resus@observable.co.za.
2. What this app does
SA Paediatric Resus is a weight-based paediatric resuscitation calculator for South African clinicians. All clinical data (drug doses, airway sizing, vitals reference) is embedded in the app at compile time and validated locally. The app works fully offline and requires no account or login.
3. Data we collect
During normal use — nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, health information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers during normal use.
Error reports (voluntary). If you choose to submit a data error report via the "Report a Data Error" button, the following information is sent to us:
- The screen name where the error was observed
- The description you type in the report form
- Your email address, if you choose to provide it (optional)
Error reports are submitted voluntarily. Nothing is sent without your explicit action of tapping the submit button.
In-app purchases. If you purchase the Pro unlock, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made but do not receive your payment details, name, or billing address. Purchase status is stored locally on your device.
4. How we use your data
Error report data is used solely to investigate and correct potential errors in the clinical data. We do not use it for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose. If you provided an email address, we may reply to you about the specific report.
5. Who we share data with
Error reports are delivered to our team via Slack (Salesforce, Inc.), which acts as a data processor on our behalf. Report content is not shared with any other third party.
In-app purchase processing is handled by Google Play Billing (Google LLC). Google's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with advertisers or analytics platforms.
6. Data storage and retention
Error reports are retained in our internal Slack workspace and deleted when no longer needed for investigation. If you provided an email address and would like your report deleted, email us and we will remove it promptly.
All other app data (resus logs, premium status) is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
7. Children's privacy
SA Paediatric Resus is intended for use by healthcare professionals, not children. We do not knowingly collect any information from or about children under 13.
8. Your rights
You may request deletion of any personal data you have submitted to us (via error reports) by contacting us at resus@observable.co.za. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
Error reports are transmitted over HTTPS. Clinical data integrity is verified on every app launch using a hash check — the app will refuse to run if the data has been tampered with.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where required, notify users through the app or Play Store update notes.
